The 5-days Basic Paramotor Training Course is designed for pilots who have completed the basic course of paragliding. Training consists of ground handling practice, paramotor usage instruction, basic theory lectures allowing students to then progress onto the 6-day intermediate paramotor course.
While it is possible for many students of average ability to achieve a supervised rating in about 5 days of flying, some take longer. The most important point to remember is not to have any expectations as to how quickly you will learn. It will take as long as it takes. Learn as much information as you can and make the most of your time with Mamba Aviation during the course.
The 6-day intermediate paramotor training course is designed for pilots who have completed the beginner course of paramotor. The course consists of more advanced training such as low-level flying, precision landings, limited fuel tasks and cross-country tasks. The intermediate course also covers more advanced navigation, and effects of the motor on the wing. At the end of the course pilots should be capable of flying a paramotor safely and competently without the need for an instructor.
Note: While it is possible for many students of average ability to achieve a supervised rating in the given days of the course, some take longer. The most important point to remember is not to have any expectations as to how quickly you will learn. It will take as long as it takes. Enjoy your learning experience with Mamba Aviation.

WHAT IS PARAMOTORING?
If you’re thinking about learning to fly paramotors, we have the answers to the most frequently asked questions by aspiring pilots
WHAT IS A PARAMOTOR
A paramotor, also known as a powered paraglider or PPG, paramotor consists of a backpack-style ultralight aircraft-engine called a Paramotor; attached to which is a standard Paraglider wing. These paraglider wings are same wings which are also flown, without power, from hills and mountains
The easy flying characteristics of a paraglider wing with the autonomy and range of powered flight. A backpack aircraft worn like ruck sack on your back with padded shoulder straps. Just buckle up, start the engine, launch the glider and then run like the wind while gunning the throttle until your feet leave the ground. Simple. Easy.
Once airborne, you have two flight controls – left and right steering via the glider’s toggles and a handheld throttle to climb or descend. Paramotoring is one of the easiest and safest forms of flight to master and offers the kind of flying experience that is unmatched by other forms of aviation.
A paramotor is a fair-weather aircraft suitable in up to 10mph winds
Easily transportable, a paramotor can fit into the boot of a standard car
Paramotoring is the most affordable form of powered flight
Simple flight controls – left and right steering with a handheld throttle
Paramotoring is one of the easiest and safest forms of flight to master
A rush. A thrill. A sense of freedom. Paramotoring is super fun!
DO I NEED TRAINING TO FLY A PARAMOTOR?
Yes! Paramotoring, like any extreme sport, has its inherent risks and can easily lead to injury or death if used incorrectly. To learn to fly a paramotor we believe that there are no shortcuts. Proper training and responsible flying are imperative
DO I NEED A PARAMOTOR PILOT LICENCE TO FLY?
Paragliding and Paramotoring is not regulated in India, so no license is required to fly anywhere in India. However, all pilots are expected to maintain a logbook to show their experience level. In absence of national policies, many states in India have come up with safety guidelines to reduce risk factors and control accidents. These guidelines cover other air users, military establishments and other restricted or no-fly areas.
HOW FAR CAN I FLY A PARAMOTOR?
Typically, a paramotor has a range of between 2 and 3 hours. This is very much dependent upon your weight, glider performance, fuel load, flying style and weather conditions. When flown correctly and using altitude, you can cover several hundred kilometres.
HOW FAST CAN I FLY A PARAMOTOR?
Speed is entirely dependent on the size and performance of your glider; more engine power just allows you to climb faster. Most of your flying is done between 25 and 30 mph. More advanced paragliders can reach up to 50 mph by engaging the trim and speed bar systems.
HOW HIGH CAN I FLY A PARAMOTOR?
The world altitude record is approximately 25,000ft. The majority of your flying is going to be below 1000ft. The “500ft Rule” allows pilots to fly below 500ft as long as they are no closer than 500ft to any person, vessel, vehicle, building or structure
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE ENGINE CUTS OUT?
Nothing drastic or to worry about and no different than taking your finger off the throttle. Your glider is very efficient and will descend even better than a normal parachute. As long as you have reasonable altitude to find a potential landing site, you can make a regular, safe landing.
IS PARAMOTORING FOR ME?
Paramotor pilots are a diverse group, from airline pilots to plumbers, and it’s equally rewarding for all. Those that love the wind in their face and finding new freedoms soon discover that flying their paramotor becomes their passion.
While there are no official age restrictions, our paramotor training schools will not take on a student younger than 18 years of age. Similarly, there is no upper age limit either. Expect a certain amount of physical activity and the need to carry a 26kg paramotor on your back. All levels of fitness should be able to cope once correct technique has been learnt. Good co-ordination and a positive, resilient mindset is also a big advantage.
